Springfield ... Things to do?
Hello all,
Looks like I'm going to be making a trip to Springfield May 10-11. I used to live down there many years ago, but really haven't been back since. What's there to do this time of year to have a little fun. Need to go to the leather shop and pick up a couple of hides, will have my gf with me. Doubt I'll be bringing the truck, due to the awesome fuel mileage of the 460. Open to just about any suggestions.

Elemak....The Bass Pro Shop HQ is at Sunshine and Campbell, ck out the "outlet" returned stuff/left over/over stock store/bldg next to it (in the same parking lot to the left) lots of deals on all kinds of stuff. Good restaurant up stairs and part of the museum is open too.
Never been here, just seen it the other day...Ozark's Air & Military Museum
Grizzly Tools big store....Harbor Freight walk in store for the cheap but sort of some good things store??
Stop by "Performance Inc." in Sparta just south of Spg and meet the man, the myth, the legend, and fellow Missouri FTE member Alan "Earthquake68" and ck out his 79 Ford monster truck and his 77 Ford truck Alice.
And see some awesome on going fab work like the diesel swap into Bandit and the custom metal C-Cab.
Stop on by the Mo chapter May chat /bs thread.

Stop, My head will get so big I won't be able to get through the door of the shop!
...but by all means, stop by and check things out.
Loftis Pawn brokers is always fun to walk through. Eagle armory is my new favorite gun shop. It's on National, a few blocks north of Division. As long as your going to Harbor Freight. Beirs burgers is on the opposite end of the strip mall from them. Best burgers in town.

Thanks for the replies. I lived down there for several years, so I know most of the tourist traps, was looking for something off the beaten path.
Looks like I'm going to have to work for a few hours Sat. morning and the leather shop closes at 6, so it will be tight during the day, but will have most of the day Sunday to cruise around.
There used to be Sat nite cruises down Glenstone during the summer months, but its probably still too cold out for those.
Always forget about Grizzly, never really made it to the south side much, I lived north of town and worked off Chestnut.
