Truck sputtered/cut out now will barely start

I was headed to work and the truck started to miss every so often so i turned around and headed home. It felt like when my CPS went out before so i put a good used one in it and now it will barely start and when it does it will sort of idle and then cut out and run rough again. The solinoid on my IPR can move left to right about a 1/4 inch. I dont know if this is normal or not. I tried unplugging the ICP and there is no difference. I am not getting a SES light either. I used a generic code reader for the time being and got a p1280 code which looks like something for the ICP. Any ideas what to look for? Im trying to get a good snap on reader to scan it today. Thanks

The solenoid should have no movement. Is the nut and/or spacer missing?

The nut is still on and tight. The movement is in the black piece where the wires plug into and where I can move it left and right. Il try to get a video later

is there fuel in the fuel bowl? Sounds like what happened to me when my fuel pump was sucking air.

I will check that but I kinda don't think it's fuel related. I never let it get below a 1/4 tank and the truck is full right now. It seems like it can run perfect then just die. I will check into it though

CPS would shut you down like you turned the key off. Have you checked your oil level?

p1280 is low ICP code so, either ICP sensor or IPR are bad, have a chaffed wire etc. or your HPOP is not doing it's job. Have you checked the oil level in the HPOP? It should be no less than an inch below the inspection hole.

I will check the HPOP level tonight. Maybe i should just buy a new IPR since the ICP is new. I cant see any noticeable wires chaffed but i can inspect further.

I did have a similar situation back in November and it ended up being injector o-rings. I don't remember if I got the 1280 code or not. I will have to go back to my thread and see. Great. Let us know how it goes for you. If it wasn't a bad weekend, I would offer to come up with AE and log some data for you.

That solenoid connector isn't looking too healthy. If you move it back and forth like that with the engine running does it have any effect?

I appreciate the help guys. And this truck new injector o rings. I did them maybe 8-10000 miles ago never had any trouble since that. And I have a video moving it while running and at first I thought it did affect it but it's so random I'm not sure that it does. Il post it once I get home
