Stx Vs. Xlt Sport

Stx Vs. Xlt Sport
I'm currently in Iraq. I'm going to buy a 2003 Ford F-150 Supercab when I return. My question is Besides the little extras here and there, what is the better truck? I'm leaning toward the XLT but I haven't been able to really look at the two closely. Also I'm probably going to special order my truck, does anyone know when the last day for special orders is?
Thanks,
mike

The STX is no "better" than the Sport, or vice-versa. It comes down to what you prefer in appearance. The sport gives you body-color bumper and grille, nicer rims, different seat upholstery, and decals. It's really just an appearance package. The STX is a little more involved, with 17" tires on special chrome rims, a nice Kenwood sound system, chrome tube steps and a different front end that resembles a Lightning/ Harley truck. The STX is more money, but both trucks are good values; again, it comes down to which one you prefer the look of, and what fits into the budget.
Forget about ordering- '03s are no longer being built. If you have to have one of these, you're limited to what's in dealer stock, or maybe what's on the way.
PS- thanks, Racerguy

hey - I just picked up the stx
it is a real pretty truck
true blue metalic - 17" wheels
I like the body colored bumpers and trim
and the front end treatment really sets it off from all the other trucks that I see.
It also appeals to me that it is still a pretty basic truck
2 wd 6cyl auto
no power windows or seats
it does turn heads though
not bad for 20 grand
one note about the supposed "chrome styled wheels"
what you get is a stamped steel wheel with a glue on plastic cover! which is I think pretty lame.
I am extremely happy with it in every other way though.

petermann,
I just traded for an STX myself. I noticed that yours is a V6. I remember reading that the normal STX wheels are not available with V6 and 120" WB. That might be why your wheels are different. I believe that must have been a mid-year change though since I have seen one with the "STX" wheels. Or maybe I did not notice the plastic glue on thing you are talking about.
