Tranny? Rear end?

Someone correct me on the CEL/code thing. Just because there is no CEL does not mean there are not codes stored--is that correct?
TPS, MAF, anything in that area that's talking to the engine computer is a suspect. Even a temperature sensor that's telling it the engine is cold will cause a rich mixture and lead to poor fuel economy.

Mileage yes theres always alot of factors, however the other problems would indicate something more along actual functioning parts. Do not beleive a tps or temp woukd cause it

Throw a fuel filter at it. I know this sounds almost absurd but I've seen these basic symptoms in fuel injected vehicles caused by fuel starvation. It certainly could be a tps sensor but I've never seen a faulty tps NOT produce a CEL. As far as sensors go, my first suspect would be MAP. I have seen those produce values out of range with no CEL. I'd still throw a fuel filter at it first.

My 04 truck does the same thing, there's an issue with the forward clutch packs in the transmission. i change my tranny fluid so often its a minor issue but it still happens occasionally on a slow down and punch it move. trans shop said if i baby it i probably won't have a serious issue. its done it since i bought it at 66k and its got 192k on it now and i plow and tow with the best of them and its never changed. my buddy has an 08 like mine and his did it and it was plugs and coils. i would do plugs, msd coils and a trans service and take it from there...
