Steering issues

My problem started last week and I didnt drive my truck over the weekend. drove it again on Tuesday and it started again. today seemed like it was worse then the other days but what it is doing ill be driving down the road and doesnt matter if it is a slight turn or if it is a left hand or right hand turn but after a turn my truck will pull to the direction i turned. if I move the wheel to correct it the truck will yank the other direction and so on. so it looks like I am swerving down the road. today I made a left hand turn and I had to use a little bit of force to get the wheels to straighten out but the problem goes away if I turn the truck off and let it sit for a little bit. I have always had play in my steering wheel since I boight the truck last year. I have kinda been putting off replacing or adjusting my sterring gear box. but I am thinking that it could be on its last leg or I may be totally wrong. that is why I came here to you guys. you guys have been able to help me out pretty quick on my problems so ideas and advise. I am welcome to it all and thanks in advance

Could be your ball joints. Put the front up on jacks, grab the wheels at 12 and 6, and yank it around. Or to keep your hands clean put a hunk o lumber under the wheel and try to lift it. Any motion except normal spinning is a problem.

Check PS fluid level. It takes Mercon V ATF, not PS fluid. Also, as a helper turns the steering wheel back and forth thru the dead range of the steering (engine off) lay on the ground watching the front end links move. They should move in unison.

Is the pump making noises?

Check your hubs too. Jack the tire up grab the top and see if you have any movement you shouldn't have. This should have been checked when everything else was. I had a similar problem a few weeks ago. I go through so many hubs I knew what it was instantly. For me when I jacked the truck up it was apparent right away when the bottom side of my tire (touching the ground) moved in towards the center of the truck about a half inch.

Yep..... Your hub is junk!!!
The top and bottom of the tire should never move in or out.
Good news is it's not a bad job and doesn't require any special tools, a set of snap ring pliers are nice to have. Last time I did one I had it down to one hour and 15 mins from driving it to driving.
