Picking up my 6.2 TOMORROW!

After a lot of research and reading a lot of threads her on this forum I made the decision to go ahead with a purchase. I looked pretty hard for a week and found a 2012 F-250 XL that has 32,500 miles on it. The truck is basically loaded for an XL and we are saving the cost of owning a XLT. It is a SRW CC 6 3/4' bed 4x4 with the cloth seats in the Metallic Gray color. I want to thank all of the 6.2 owners that have given excellent feedback on this motor and the trucks that go with it. I can honestly say that I am not going to miss my 6.0 PSD and I am looking forward to driving the new (used) truck home almost 400 miles with a smile on my face the whole way.

I drove almost 500 miles one way to trade in my 2004 F350 CC with a 6.0 for my 2012 F250 CC with a 6.2 and I can honestly say that it is one of the best decisions that I have made in my life. The 6.2 made 16.5 mpg on the 500 mile trip with a slight tail wind about half of the trip and it drove great. There is such a big difference in the way the truck rides, a lot more responsive in the steering and it doesn't shake me to death over bumps. The motor is sneaky on power and has a great sound. If this trip was any indication of how the truck is going to perform, then I am going to be a very happy owner.

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have my 2013. Hardest thing for me to use to coming from a Diesel owner since the 80's, is the RPM range the 6.2 runs in. She revs high, but you get use to it.

Congrats!

Matt and I agree that you appear to have chosen the correct color. We're not sure about the wheels, however...

Best of luck. Solid power plant for sure. Just came upon my 1 yr anniversary and STILL love driving this truck. Not one issue with her.

Matt, good to see you back.

Absolutely love that color. I was actually home last weekend and clay bar'ed the whole truck, threw a coat of carnuba wax on, then a coat of synthetic wax. Looks just as good as the day I bought it over 3 years ago. Congrats again.
