Keep it. 10 years from now black wheels and blacked out trucks will look dated. Chrome won't look dated.

Have you considered using plasti-dip? A simple, do it yourself project. Cost about $8.

When (or if) you get tired of it you can remove it. And if the bumper (and mirrors too) get dinged you can easily touch it up.

Additional note - MY OPINION - the gas flapper door should be returned to white.

Or a "wrap", will protect it, and when or if you get tired of it, removes easily.

Although I painted my front bumper black it was mostly because..
1. A stone hit the bumper and made a small ding in it thats why I did the light cut-outs.
2. Whenever I get the money I would like to but a Road Armor front bumper and that comes in black.
Chrome is really easy to take care of....I used to wax it and looked great.

Unless you get that existing chrome on the bumper media blasted off (or at least have a 100% roughened surface)any paint you put on there will eventually peel usually starting with any little stone or parking lot ding. And if you think the chrome looks bad, wait until there are several silvery spots peeking through that paint

Ya if you dont prep it right it wont work....It took me a long while to grind/sand down the chrome than to cut and weld in the light bucket brackets.
I also did my factory "chrome" steps because the chrome started peeling and looked cheap.

I vote for black, seems it's the look your going for already, with the black grill, smoked lights, etc...

I tried plasti dip on the bumper before and it never came out right (even after 3 tries, I finally gave up) after I take the chrome mirror covers off, I think itll look a little bit better, I just think my truck has a little too much chrome, I priced an black factory super duty bumper for $265, forget it, so I called some body shops around here and the lowest I got was $175
