Dana 60 id w/o tag or bom

Hi all. Trying to find out if my 60 is from a Ford or Dodge. Original rear went bad on previous owner. He replaced it with who knows what. Is there any differences between the dodge or Ford 60's? The info tag is missing. There are no #'s located on the axle tubes. Only #'s I can find are on the center housing. Leaf spring pads and shock mounts fit my highboy.

The differences could be the spline count. Basically, D60 rears are about the same in the strength department.

As far as the BOM, I would wire wheel the tubes. I have never seen one without a BOM.

I wire brushed the right side. Will dig deeper. I bought a Dana 60 rebuild kit for a Ford. I'm hoping it will fit this rear end. I guess I won't know until I tear into it.

This number is upside down, flip it over and type what the number is.

Dana ID # has 6 numbers, then a hyphen followed by one or two more numbers. Like 603380-5

As far as I can tell they are C3D255. The "d" could be a o or a 0. No dashes that I can see.

That's not the Dana ID number. Look on one of the axle tubes for it.

Some Dana 60's have an ID tag bolted (2 bolts) to the housing adjacent to the inspection cover.

As far as rebuild kits, the center stuff is the same, but there are a few, weird ones out there the had different outer bearings, and a few minor other things. Most likely, the kit you got will be fine.
