There should be a IDI section for quirky odd issues, take my 94 E4OD. It had a issue because they wired the tranny in with the overhead cab light and the wiring in line in the cab light was famous for grounding out and blowing the fuse so the tranny would not work correctly which could be a nightmare for somebody to figure out.

I have an idea

Ok so since I put larger tires on the truck and slowed the rear axle down a little the truck will actually hold overdrive some. Not as much as it should but it will hold it. My idea which is completely just an idea is that there is speed sensor on the rear axle that communicates with the computer to tell it how fast the rear axle is going. If the computer was programed for a different gear ratio from the f250 would it cause this issue if the rear end is a different hear ratio then the original truck the motor trans and computer came out of?

Seems like every time I have ever seen the plug to the solenoid pack on an e4od it has looked like the one in the picture, with all those naked wires it's a wonder they work at all.
