Windshield wiper mod

First I have to give thanks to das54 for his album pics for installing a electric wiper motor in place of the original vacuum wiper.

I hit the local Pic a Part yard and first picked up a 2 speed wiper out of a 92 Cherokee.

I used his pics and measurements to make up the mounting plate to mount the wiper.

I then went back and found a basic wiper switch that did not have an intermittent position out of a 88 F150....that took some doing.

The big problem was matching up Ford switch wiring to the Jeep wiper motor wiring. Thank god for the internet!

I also had to weld the old and new motor arms together once I had everything in the right position

It works like a champ! Got some cleaning up to do and maybe a little tweaking of the park position, but the hard part is done. Total out of pocket cost less than $30.

So the wipers are only one speed?

Maybe I am just confused, I have an 88 F150 that I just sourced everything from, and the wipers on it had varying speeds......

Are they easier to install?

Less to go wrong down the road?

Was there a part number on the switch??

Yea you dont have to wire up the delay module. But that wasnt why i didnt use one.
Will check to see if I can find a number on it...but the auto zone part number is SW1113 and It is $19.99...I got it from salvage yard for $6 with the plug and wires.

I was just hoping your reason wasn't because of some problem that I hadn't thought about because I want to use them...

Around here intermittent wipers are nice to have. We get light rain often or right after a hard rain and cars going by the other way spray mist on the windshield. In those conditions I like the intermittent.

I like intermittent because it gives you (usually) an option for a single wipe.

Dave, I don't see any hope of that fitting under a BonusBuilt dash.
