My first f250

Can I post pictures on the mobile version of this website? Well regardless I will try!

Ok; so, I was hoping that somebody could help me decide buy or hold on this truck...
It is NO rust as far as I can see..
170k miles
4x4
5.4
Early 99
4.10 Limited slip (c2)
One owner
Truck feels like a dead weight when I gun it... Not like it's broken.. Just sluggish?
Clean underside.
XLT... Soo it's got power seats and power locks/windows.
Recently rebuilt head gasket. Was leaking / mixing.

Also... The trim on it... Never seen it; was it a package?

He started on 6500.. I started at 3500. We are at 4700.
Pictures would help this thread for me I'll keep looking.

Thanks for the lead. I have been killing my brain looking all over google for anything like that kit and can't find it.

They did make similar steps back in the day.

That's a lot of weight and a lot of miles for that npi 5.4 especially for the money.

It looks like a nice truck but the 2V npi motor is the only drawback as well as the transmission for the E99 models.

Some E99 models did not have a transmission cooler in the radiator and only one small in-line cooler in the front of the truck. Ford changed that for the L99+ models. I know it caused alot of issues with heavy towing and overheating the transmission.

The price seems a bit high, I would try to stick closer to the 3,800-4k but I personally wouldn't pay over 4. As long as there is no major rust under those running boards, salt loves to hide in those little places.

Talked to him again today in person.. He wasn't moving from the 4700. I threw 4000 number at him.. Showed interest.. Still wasn't moving though. Talked a few more minutes; said no more haggling; 4200 cash pending my mechanics inspection.. He said he will sleep on it tonight.. I'll see him early tmrw.

About the NPI 5.4 I don't tow much.. I have 2 snowmobiles on a small open trailer. Our 4.0 explorer can do it, and my 4.6 f150 can do it. I would hope the 250 can also do that.

I plan to give it another good look In the morning to make sure I'm not missing anything.
