That's why I prefaced the comment with "at one level..."
I'd be a little torqued too, it does look a little skeevy at a quick glance, but you're a smart guy. I think to avoid confusion they should state NOS versus a licensed reproduction. Words mean things, and for example check out what eBayers call "mint" condition when it comes to collectable antiques or components.

Actually, I have been. I know that DC parts will be dimensionally correct and manufactured to perform as expected. Are they perfect, absolutely not - they are generally the standard for others to aspire. I'm certain we can agree to disagree.

That's what make the world turn everyone has different ideas and thoughts of what right and wrong. If we all thought and expected the same thing we would all be driving 49 Ford trucks.

You know, these trucks were not perfect when new and MOST NOS parts are not show quality ( example chrome door handles)
Many times the reproduction part is nicer than a 50-60 year old NOS item,
I'll say it again, Ford wasnt in business building show trucks, these were vehicles to be USED.
I think we are lucky to have someone like DC to have stepped up and made these parts so we all can continue to enjoy some of the best vehicles ever produced!

I'm not trying to star a whizzing match. Read my previous posts. I'm not complaining about quality, fit or finish. What's in my crawl is DC lists these door handles as being GENUINE FORD. They are not Genuine Ford they are reproduced by DC or who ever he contracts the out to produce them for him.
I'm done with this its not going any place, this is my final post on the Dennis Carpenter Reproduction issue. If nothing else this post will make others aware of DC selling practices and a play with words.

According to my DC parts catalog, they list GENUINE door handles and IMPORTED handles.
They are different prices, did you pay for the imported or the genuine. Maybe someone made a mistake

I paid for the GENIUNE FORD handles except they are GENUINE REPRODUCTION FORD handle. Cost was 60 bucks each

Tell ya what - Open a store advertised as selling Ford Parts and see how long it is before the lawyers have you in court - Ford has people that inspect the parts before they authorize you to sell Genuine or other Ford parts as new and sometimes NOS or used.
If you go to a Ford Dealer today and order a part for your Vehicle it will be a Genuine Ford part but it will be made by an after market jobber

I'll separate from the crowd and agree that Branded has a legit beef. The ad does say "Genuine ford" (complete with the lowercase "f") to describe the handle. That implies to me original Ford NOS parts. They rightfully should be listed as Made from original Ford tooling, if that is the case. One ad does show the Ford tooling logo, so that could be considered a give-away, but the other one does not. DC may be well known for their quality repro parts, and one could probably reasonably expect to get such, but it doesn't make misleading descriptions excusable. There is a review button on the ads. Perhaps that is a good place to make feelings known. My 2c.

I fully agree, and no wonder why there are no reviews for any products!
