I am going to look at a c6 in a couple days that a private party has for sale. Supposed to be rebuilt. I was wanting some tips about what to look for.

 

the most important thing to look for is that it is for your engine.
the C6 has an integral case, as in no removable bell housing. there are 5 or 6 different bell housing bolt patterns. so buying a fresh rebuilt trans that is for a diesel will do you no good if you have a 300 six cylinder.

 

C6s are known for the little modulator on the side of the trans to go bad that will cause it not shift from 2nd to 3rd. That or it has a vacuum leak.

What about play in shaft?
