You'll need to tap a 1/4 npt hole on both sides of the piston. Just make sure where you tap it has enough meat to hold an adequate number of threads.

Google search for power steering box hydraulic schematic and you should be to see what I mean by "either side of the piston".

After you've tapped the holes screw in adapter fittings from 1/4 npt to #6 JIC or #6 AN (jic and an are virtually identical. The rest is a matter of running hoses to the ram, assuming you have the ram attached to your axle and tie rod.

We can be more specific if you give us more info on your build.

Tap fittings and weld them. Best to use a little 3/32 ,7018 rod to burn out any impurities and no leaks

Ok, great info so far, thanks. Its a 94 f250, 16" coilovers up front and 4 linked. Front bumper is around 5' off the ground. Triangulated uppers and straight lowers. Truck just has a huge amount of sway. No track bar, and no sway bar. In the middle of sway bar purchasing. Anyway, did the 4x4x2 box come in my truck? Any pics of where to drill would be great. Did do some research and found some good writeups on pirate. Also, how do i know what length, and size of ram to use? I heard too big a ram would be slow turning, and too small wpuld not have enough strength to turn? Im currently on 38" tires, but will be most likly be going to somewhere above 42". Probably 42s but maybe 44s. Doubtfully 46s but possible.

Go with a 1.5x 8 or a 1.75x8, don't do 2" if U drive street at all.
Take a donor/junk box and drill some "reasearch holes" find a good meaty spot.

Is it offroad only? Go full hydro.
Full hydro is illegal and unsafe onroad, engine dies= no steering.
Hydro assist is a good on/offroad setup , and good happy medium (when done properly)and is what I use.

Yes i do want to be able to drive on the street. Full hydro will probably be in the future, once i get a big enough trailer and truck to tow her around. I think i will be getting some steering box's this weekend and trying it out.
