Well, my experience of installing a Ford re-manufactured 7.3 engine a while back brings me here today looking for yet another replacement motor.

Don't EVER, EVER, EVER, buy a Ford re-manufactured 7.3 engine! You are much better off avoiding that poor decision. I have ever increasing loss of compression in cylinder 7, failed leak-down test in #7, decent blow-by, and oil consumption.

Anyway, is there anyone in the Kansas City area that has a low mile late '99 to 2000 7.3 forged rod motor that is in tip top shape? I don't need injectors, turbo, HPOP, exhaust manifolds, up-pipes, turbo pedestal, etc. Just a long block with excellent compression on all cylinders, no blow-by, and runs great.

Thanks Chad. My Cutlass is a '72. It was my first car. I'll never let go of it.

I'll look into the Colorado Springs engine and let you know if I consider that seriously. May be helpful to have someone scout it out for me.
