My local SCT dealer claims he can not by-pass the PATS feature on a 2011 F150 5.0L/6R80 controller. Has anyone actually had this done on a 2011-2014 F150 or 2011-2014 Mustang system?

I don't know about the project above, but I do know that SCT can not turn off PATS in 2011-2014 F150s or Mustangs.

You need to keep PATS, so in an F150 that means keeping the donor truck's Key, PCM, and BCM. In a Mustang you will need the Cluster, Key and PCM all from same car. If the PATS items are not from the same vehicle, then you will need to visit local Ford dealer and have them Programmed to match whatever 80-bit PATS key you wish to use once you have your vehicle completed and ready to run.

I do not see any new posts from Reneau87. Not sure if he has progressed or given up. I do know that 2012 Mustang 5.0L Coyote control system is very complex and that the PATS system is in the Cluster. You must have cluster plugged in, and use the original ignition key for the engine to fire. You must also connect the fuel pump circuit to let the PCM control the fuel pump or it will not fire. There are some other tricks too, but pretty basic stuff if you have all the factory wiring including the underhood fuel box.

1948 Ford F1 Coyote Swap Update

My 48Ford F1 is in a SCT dealer shop in Memphis TN having a 2013 Coyote 5.0 truck engine with 6 speed automatic installed right now. I haven't heard of any problems yet as they say they have done this before. I'll update more when I hear the truck running or as I hear of problems. This is the first time for this shop to install the Coyote engine in a older truck but they have done several other swaps in older Mustangs before.

Well this is going to be interesting, please do keep us posted as to this SCT dealer's ability to defeat PATS on a 2011-2014 5.0L/6R80 control system!

Cant you just buy the control pack and harness from ford racing and it does away with all the problems? Other than the $1600 problem to buy it.

The Ford kit is for a manual trans, it can't control the automatic transmission. Running a stand alone computer isn't the best way to go and I don't think anybody makes anything to control the 6R80.

Latest Update

I just spoke with the shop that is working on my 48 F1 Coyote swap and they say that they will be turning the PATS system off. Once this is done there will be no need for the factory ignition switch and key or the body computer. They say they have done this before and have 2 different software systems that can defeat PATS. I don't know the name of the software company but will try to find out next week when the project leader returns. I'll try to update more as I find out more info.

Can not wait to find out which aftermarket software tuning software is capable of turning off PATS. I spoke with owner of SCT today (Chris) and he said that on 2011-2014 F150 and Mustang PCMs Ford put the PATS feature in an area of the code that can not be accessed. So SCT can not turn off PATS on these modules. I sure want to know which software company can do it!

Did you keep the stock AC and Alternator from the donor truck?
I'm on the same boat building a f100 1956 with a complete coyote engine from a donor mustang (6R80). I want to save some $$ by keeping the stock accessories.
