Wiper Motor and Mounting help needed
62 F100
I had a one speed which had equal 12/1/2 inch arms. I've upgraded to a 2 speed and need to know if I need to change one arm to a 12 1/4 inch. If I do which arm is it?
Second question the mounting bracket as shown mounts the motor parallel to the floor. The instructions in the DC kit suggest the motor should be at a prox 20 degree angle down to the floor. The original motor was parallel. Any one have theirs angled down? Why?
I went back on the forum to 2008 but couldn't discern the answer.
THANKS...

This may not help but...and I only have recent experience with 65/66. The mount looks like one I have that came with a Bosch American two speed motor. The motor looks to be mounted on the right and mine all point to the left. Early trucks had transmission arms of equal length. On later trucks the right transmission arm is 1/4 inch shorter. I think a later motor mount bracket and a NAPA re-manufactured motor might work better than what you have. On the Bosch American the motor arm would not fit on the later motors. I think there is a tech article here detailing this swap. Hopefully your not in a big hurry to get this sorted out. I have converted several 65/66 single speed systems to two speed with intermittent wipers using 100% Ford stuff. Post back I am curious as to how this turns out.
