2004 Expedition Poltergeist

Searched a bit but didn't find anything that fit.

My wife went to start the truck this afternoon and she said that the doors were locking and unlocking while the power seat was moving back and forth. When she jumped in the seat and got the truck started it stopped.

Just got of the phone with her again. It has happened twice now.

I wonder if the battery dropped a cell and doesn't have full voltage. If it was low I figure the car wouldn't start or the seats wouldn't drive as fast. Interior lights are on strong when the car is off and door open.

Any opinions helpful.

The keyless entry system adjusts the seat, pedals, mirrors, and obviously controls the locking/unlocking of the doors. It could be the module in the truck is bad or it could be her remote. Try a new battery in the remote first.

Thanks alloro.

Well it's not the battery, terminals, or the remote; all check good. The floors are drenched, is the controller is under the seats? Probably soaked now. Looks like a leak up front, water come from the back side of the dash and flows under the carpet.

Now the bell for lights left on rings when the lights are off and the door open. The locks and seat still act up. The keyless controller sounds like the winner, just need to find it.

Sounds like the windshield is leaking and dripping down on the GEM Module (under the dash).

May be. The module behind the glove box looks dry but I can't see the back.

When I leaned on the car looking under the dash some water poured from above the parking brake pedal.

Can I pull the plastic cover around the wipers off, and seal the window from outside, or should I have the window removed and re-installed?

It is under the dash all the way to the right. In the attached PDF the connectors in the red circle are for the VSM (vehicle security module.)
