ARMY issue
In 1970 I was stationed at a Maint. Bn in Idar-Oberstein Germany.
I was assigned as the commander's driver. My vehicle was a 66 or 67
Bronco. It was olive green, not drab green. Front seats were off white
Mustang buckets. A 57 Ford radio was installed under the dash for me
to listen to AFN radio. I did not see these anywhere else in the ARMY.
I was in Nam in 68 and 69 as well as the Army Reserves many years
through the late 80s. Annual Training at numerous posts did not reveal
any Broncos.
Can anyone shed some light on this? Does anyone own one?

Bet you were/are a good mechanic, too. Did my share of spit-polish but there's no substitute for good wrench. A tractors a tractor.

check on-line at CB also
"...A tractors a tractor..."
And a bronk w/a 300/4.9
is a tractor (the way I'd use it).
"...Can anyone shed some light on this? Does anyone own one?..."
See back issues of BD for articles on both. I'm not currently subscribed (only issues up to #50) but the tractor (as I call it) and some Army & other service bronk pic were in earlier issues...
"...towing aircraft..."
uses a 300 motor (but not in a bronk) at our local airport ("Bradley International" so called "Hartford [, CT] Airport"). Also that's the engine of choice on ski lifts, out in desert pumpin irrigation, wood chippers, ele generators, etc, etc. If done the way it's shown in BD mag I think it's the way to go in a bronco, unless there was the right diesel. I haven't seen the right one yet, but have not seen what's in the new jeep. Sorry for the jack - now back to ur regularly scheduled program...

John!
Again, plez check out back issues of Bronco Driver mag.
One fella has a Navy issue and the guvment (I believe) has
an Army or Marines one. The latter they bring out to this
day for parades. Is adapted as a platform for the dignitaries
to stand (in the back) and wave to the crowds.
(PM me if adamant & I'll look thru the 1st 50 issues to find the cite,
See below sig...)
"...In 1970 I was stationed at..."
humm, must B an antique like me (61 y/o).
