Blower motor question...

I'm trying to figure out where I might find a suitable 12v replacement blower motor for the heater on my 48.

I have it pictured below. It's stamped "Leece Neville". Any ideas where I can find a new one.

Good to hear. They also should have a blower, if you need one.

I'm surprised to see three wires going to the motor? Does your truck have a Magic Air heater?

These are some common replacement 12v motors:

There are actually four wires. I somehow managed to take two shots at an angle that blocks out one of the wires.

So is it a reversible motor? It sounds like it is, they run in reverse for defroster mode?

I think it is. I've not had this motor running. My heater looks like this one (but not quite as shiny):

So, at the rate I'm going, it looks like I'll have my heater put back together just in time for the warm weather.

I found a motor for the fan. I ended up ordering a MEI 3354 from ryder. Blower Motor, 3354, Airsource - Ryder Fleet Products

It works great. I did have to shorten the shaft, since it was just slightly too long.

I've finished cleaning/painting the parts, and almost have everything reassembled.

The only issue I have left is that I don't know what I should do for heater controls. There are currently no existing controls in the cab. The fan is reversable, so I need to be able to switch between defrost and heat. I also need a control to close and open the defrost.

I'm open for any suggestions.

Is the old motor 6V & does it work ? How long is the motor & is the shaft 5/16 ? Might want to try the heater control panel from a '48-'50 fresh air heater . It has the 2 sp blower motor switch slow ( S) & fast ( F ) defrost , temp & air .Let me know aboutt he motor . I may be interested . Thanks , Denny

The old motor is 6v. I wasn't able to get it to work. It's a 1/4" shaft. I can measure the rest if you are interested in it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will look into that.
