Where is "low end" " mid range" and "top end"

What rpmz are the range of low mid and top on an engine?

Does low end go from 1000-2500?
Mid range from 2500-5000?
Top end being 5000 and up?

What's the range???

It is all relative!

Are we talking about you 351C 2v or one of the 7 others? Stock or modified?

For a stock low performance engine like that I would think that Low would be from idle up to 2000 rpm, Mid from there up to 4000, and Top End from there to 5500. Most low performance engines make only noise above that point if they will rev that high.

Yea the highest mine has revved so far is only 4200. It shifts at that point. Factory redline back In the day was 5100. Max hp at 4600. Peak torque at 2600.

So I don't even hit the high end of things.

What's the reason you want to define the RPM range?

Are you wanting to improve your driving experience in a certain situation?

Just curious. I was looking at cams and was trying to apply low mid high descriptions to the rpm which they would use. Being that Ill never go over about 5,000. I need a good low and midrange cam.

Low end is what you claim an engine has when mid range is its top end.

Hahaha yep. That's my situation. I can't ever rev above 4500.
