fuel filter on engine leaking from small access port?

Ive noticed a pretty significant leak of diesel under the truck when running, and tracked it down to the small round allen head port at the bottom of the fuel filter attached to the top of the motor.

What I cannot find for the life of me, is a replacement part for this?

surely its not just a regular oring? is this a ford dealer only part?

thanks in advance.

Perfect excuse to install a fuel pressure gauge. It's probably only a few bucks over the counter, just call a Ford/International dealer. Or measure the o-ring and call a few hydraulic shops and see if one will sell you a Viton replacement.

thanks, called the dealer and after a 5min search...he informed me that the part consists of a new plug and oring..and is $21 bucks.

seems a bit much for an oring, but i guess the plugs may strip out? *shrug

Yeah, that's a LOT for an o-ring. Maybe someone here has a plug removed and can measure an o-ring that wasn't leaking for you, and you can source one from a local shop. Even buying a set of rings is cheaper than a new plug apparently.

Could also be the "keyhole" shaped Oring on the regulator cover. Great time put a blue spring in there if you haven't done it yet.

ah, that pic is great!

definately the fuel pressure test port that is leaking (I think anyway, if it were the larger assembly, i wouldnt think it would get wet under the test port plug...but who knows.

its a pretty constant "drip" with the motor running.
