intake worth it?

09 F350, I have done the DPF/CAT delete and using a SCT tuner. Im running it on level 3 that does not require a new intake. My question is, If I plan to stay at that level (which I do) is a new intake worth it? I don't want to spend $200-$300 just so I have it. Is it worth it? Pretty happy with mpg and power now.

If you're not sucking in the air filter indicator and throwing a code you are good to go. To answer your question, No. I have a H&S tuner with a stock air filter and run the 250hp mild tune and have not thrown a code "yet ".

It is nice to be able to just clean the filter rather than replacing. I doubt you'll see any notable differences one way or the other.

Yea, I don't think I would consider the 250 tune mild, LOL.

Doesn't matter what tune.

First mod should always be a some type aftermarket intake.

So far I'm very impressed with No Limits.
Name says it all. I think it would be the best.

I would consider Spartan's version of the 250HP mild.

Are we talking about a air intake or air filter, the original air filter is good up to a 250 HP tune or better, like said above if your not sucking the filter minder and getting a code it's a waist of money.

For most, the 210 file is too much for a factory air filter. If you are going to run the bigger files, why would you restrict the chargers? Sucking the filter minder in isn't the "end all" test to determine when a cold air intake system or drop in aftermarket filter is needed.

I have no doubt you know more about these engines than I, but a 250HP tune increases the HP on 6.4 by 71%! What would you consider aggressive?

It gets aggressive at the 275hp file. This is Spartan tuning. Others may be different. I towed a lot with the 275.

I know it's crazy, but that what makes the 6.4 impressive.

I'm pretty sure he was just saying what H&S goes by WHICH is stock/mild/wild....<~~which is your hot damn tunes ...I FINALLY HAND CALCULATED...with exhaust/ aFe stage 2 intake/ mini maxx "mild" 250hp setting I'm getting a steady 11.5 mpgs in town... BUT I'm on 6' and 37's/20's..so it obviously would be better if I we're stock.. so I can feel the power added from the intake/sounds better too just not sure as to how much you really gain from an intake!

You're crazy if you think a "250HP" tune truly increases HP by 250. I've been running the 300 by H&S for quite some time.

Some companies do rate tunes based on how much power they add. A stock 6.4 will dyno anywhere from 270-300 HP depending on tire size. My Spartan 310 dynoed 586hp and 1200 ftlbs. Very close to a 310hp gain.
