Photoshop for possible grill color please

I am considering painting parts of the gigantonormous chrome front end of the truck.
I'm thinking about coloring the 2 center bars black or body color.
I've thought about coloring the surround and leaving the 2 center bars chrome but I'm concerned that it will look like a jet intake and maybe make it look like it sticks out even farther than it does.

Any other ideas?
What about an Adobe bumper?
Sometimes I think about trading the whole thing for a black XL grill -
it's just so gaudy!

Did you ever figure out what you were going to do with the grill?

No. Maybe your post will help.
I am going to lay craft paper over some of it to get an idea about painting different parts.

I don't have photo shop on this computer, so the color is as close as I could get it with paint....

Hope this helps.

You could try the Plasti-Dip spray. If you don't like it just
peel it back off and no damage. $8.00 a can. They also make
a tintable kit. However you will need to spray that.

Not a fan of the big chrome surround on the newer trucks either.

Meetre, great job with Paint.. It's a bit of work to do what you did.. It's appreciated!

Sean - Plasti-Dip is a great idea! I wonder if it can be tinted to come to a close match to Bronze-Fire Metallic?

Red - yes there is a whole lotta chrome on the front of these trucks.. I don't have anything against chrome really, but was just thinking about a different look..

Boss - I think I read somewhere that the bars are not integral with the rest of the grill and surround - meaning that they can be removed. If that's the case, I think I would try and buy the bars or the entire grill for an XL and just paint those black bars the same as body color and reinstall. Save the chrome ones in case I screw up / change my mind or something..

I agree. This one looks nice.

Big-Foot You should have no problem getting close with the Plasti-Dip
color-match kit. It will be a satin and not a metallic flake But it
should give you an idea.
Dip Coating & Specialty Rubber Coating | Plasti Dip Create Your Color Kit
If you look at that link they have some videos where they show the
kit and how it works. I understand you can spray it with the small
refillable aerosol cans or a spray rig.

What about the other way around
Chrome bars and body colored ring?

Here is mine with the black Plasti-Dip.
Was very easy to peel it when it was fresh.
It seems to be a tough surface.
