Headlight mod

Today my box of new parts from LMC came in, among them was the headlight harness upgrade. I just have to say, the difference between before and after is astonishing. For $25 my headlights are almost twice as bright. If you drive your truck at night a lot, I can't say enough about it.

For those who are handy, and/or have the stuff lying around, Here's the article on how to do it yourself. As for me, it was worth the money for something plug and play.

X2 with ya there. A few hours of my time and about $25 from my local hardware store and my lights actually light the road!

Thanks for the link, I am definitely going to look into doing this soon. Driving my truck at night can be quite a task as is.

It makes a heck of a difference for very little time to get such a huge reward and it being a safety issue is a plus. Back roads aren't scary or sketchy and more. I hit the junkyard for a Dis box off of a Focus for $10 and over the weekend I routed and soldered and crimped the wires and relays. Worked for 6 months until I got fed up with the wiring gremlins and started pulling everything out and apart. With a new painless wiring harness and 130amp alt I have all the power I need for everything if I can just get the time to get the motor in and running.......

Not only will the light be much brighter, but there is WAY less chance of them suddenly going out (usually at the worst possible time) from the headlight switch getting hot and tripping the internal breaker. Once that has happened for the first time, it will happen again and again, on a rapidly increasing scale.........

I can vouch for the worst possible time part. This happened once on my old truck, while I was taking the guy who traded me for my current truck for a test drive... "I swear, this has never happened before"
