whats already been said. gears typically when running larger tires. the exhaust though is a must as the stock system is very restrictive.

Please fill out your signature with stats on your bronco. would help knowing engine, tranny, year etc.. and any mods it does have like lift tires etc..

Here is what ive done e fan swap msd coil and msd cap and rotor Taylor wires good iridium plugs advance timing up about 2 degrees synthetic fluids k&n air filter and take the intake tube that puts air in the box off and put 1 from a f150 with a straight 6 in it on in its place as it lets more air in also gears do help alot with bigger tires such as mine has 33s on it and I put 3.73s in place of the stock 3.55 and it truly made a night and day difference also deleting the cats and just running a flowmaster helped mine alot also deleting the smog pump and ac pump helps. After all of that my bronco out does my buddy's that has a 5.8 and mines a 5.0 but all the same mods apply wether its 5.0 or 5.8

The gears will be the biggest, most noticeable change.

And when you post a reply try using a period , comma or a question mark once in a while. Most people wont read a post with no punctuation.

True.

The fourth post above is just a big blur of words, and I only picked out a few phrases.

My eyes glaze over.

The commercialy sets available are 2 1/4" into 2 1/2 I think.

If you don't have to pass emissions, ditch the cat all together. They're the major restriction in the exhaust system.
