I already know that spray on is blbetter but I do not have the ability to use a air comoressor. Nor the extra money to buy one just to spray it on. I've had good luck in the past with roll on liner so imma give it a shot. Also would it be better to take it down to complete metal rather than sanding it down.

If the factory paint is holding really good, then a good scuffing of it is all thats needed. As long as the new paint has something to bite into is what you want. Bare metal sometimes is not better than scuffed up paint(got to use primer on bare metal, more time and $$$)
I used that bedliner paint I got from wally world in a gallon can. I fixed any rusted areas 1st, then totaly wired wheeled down(sander broke) the firewall, pillers and flooring on the inside of my cab. Brushed it on, 6 years later, its holding up really good. Only areas that did not stick, were right under the seat where I did not wire wheel/sand the factory paint. It flaked up in probly a year.
