Thinking they unscrew. Maybe slight heat, and an old leather belt wraped around to protect. My 37 has beautiful stainless ones and my 47 has plain steel. I'll need to find this also as I do brakes on the 47 next week. I just can't remember.....

Yes, they unscrew. My dad and I have taken some of these off of a 1936 1 1/2 ton. It is a bit tricky to do without damaging them. I think my dad wrapped a rag around them and used a channellock, but ours were not in very good shape to begin with, so the leather belt might be a better approach.
