Cowl vent leaking on a '97 F-800

Hello.
Anyone ever have their cowl vent leak rainwater into the cab? Is it a gasket problem or something else? I think it is the same cowl vent as was on many pickups for the time period or thereabouts. It is the drivers side. Thinking about just cover plating over it because it is running a small stream under my floormat.

Any info would be appreciated.

The sliding plastic vent down on the left drivers wall next to my feet to be a little more specific, is leaking. Is that the vent itself?
