My stuff doesn't get started enough, especially during the winter. About a year ago I bought a 4 lead Battery Tender. Now they are always kept fully charged. Even my heavy duty trolling motor battery.

Sure appears you installed the wrong valve, fingers crossed!

That's definitely going to be at least some of your problem, if not all of it.

Props to Ross for thinking of it.

Quick Update

I basically lost 3 days trying to get my battery recharged with the crappy little Craftsman 6/12 volt battery tender...no luck. I finally went last night and borrowed a good battery charger from one of my neighbors and hooked it up. This morning after I finished tending the chickens (in the 16 degree cold) I gave an attempt to get ole Buck started. I primed the carb with fresh gas and it kicked over pretty quick...only thing is it quit once the fuel ran out of the carb. I tried this 3 times with the same result...and before I quit and had to leave for work I noticed that the carb was wet...appears that one or more of the gaskets are leaking...the fun never ends. I'm thinking that with all the tinkering lately the gaskets aren't good anymore...so I ordered new gaskets and just for good measure I ordered a new power valve too. I'm going to try again this evening when I get home from work...we'll see how it goes. Jeff K
