95 ford f150 2wd broken rear spring hanger
coming home tonight from work the rear pasanger side spring hanger broke. All the others look good . so how hard is it to replace the one side. i know im going to have to grind off the rivets and remove the rest of it from the spring shackle . but how hard is it going to be to get the spring back in place.

I did use air tools. No biggie; run what ya brung.
I used a piece of MIG wire to fish the bolts through the holes in the frame and had about enough room between the tank and frame to drop a box wrench on the bolt heads. I also hit the frame under the hanger with a wire brush, squirted it with rust converter, and painted it before I put the hanger on.
You'll want new U bolts when you do the job. I put the truck frame on jackstands then used a floor jack to support the axle while I loosened the U bolts and to lower the axle once I had the U bolts loose. The spring was no problem to put in; everything lined right up. I jacked the axle up to meet the spring, put the new U bolts in and snugged them, then took the truck off the jackstands and tightened everything up while the truck was on the ground. The shackle bolts want something like 115 ft-lbs while the U bolts want 100 ft-lbs.
One thing you'll find out when you start out to remove the rivets is they are made of very good steel. I still wonder why Ford didn't make the shackle hangers out of the same steel.
