Winter tires and pres. sensors

I have a 2007 Explorer with pressure sensors and I bought a set of winter tires and rims supposedly with pressure sensors that were used on an equal year of Explorer, now that they are on the unit the pressure warning lamp came on and now its flashing, how does the vehicle learn that it has sensors in the wheels, or does it even do so, or do I have to do something to make it realize that it has different sensors ?

It depends on what type of monitors you have. If you have metal valve stems held in to the wheel with a nut, then they are the monitors. If they are the same on both sets of wheels,(metal valve stems) follow this procedure. You will need a magnet for this.

If they are rubber, then you have monitors strapped to the inner barrel of the wheel, and I don't know how to help.
