Well 8 Days after getting it home , I started the tare down today . After many years of working on old stuff and making do with the tools at hand , I have gotten myself a well stocked garage . First after 20 years of sitting the truck runs and drives , no brakes but the emergency works for moving around yard and in and out of the garage . Then the four post lift is worth its weight in gold , for a old guy with back issues . After lifting the truck up , the plasma cutter made short work of the carriage head bolts holding the running boards and box to the Frame . The impact made short work of the bumper bolts . After box was cut lose I ran the truck out raised the lift, backed the truck under the lift , hooked chains on all four corners of the box , drove truck out and put box on wheeled table . Pushed box out lowered the lift , backed truck onto lift , raised lift rolled box under lift . So in 4 hours I removed both bumpers , running boards, and box , Not bad for the first day. Next comes the front clip . At this rate I am looking to have the bare frame in front of me by Friday . That's my goal 5 days for complete tare down .
