'53 3 Speed trans question inny or outy
I am about to put new wiring harness in my '48. I have two transmissions one is a '53 and the other is a '62 (so I was told since it came out of a '62). I have the '53 transmission in truck. The speedometer is electric which is programmable. What came out of my trans is a smooth shaft with gear inward and is held in place with a small bolt. If I were to want to change cable , the whole piece looks like it has to be changed. The new unit has to thread on to a male part that would stick out.
My question is there a piece that would go in transmission that would make it an outy (MALE Thread).

This is the only thing I can find. Does your adapter come apart in the middle?
