Main thing that hurts that truck is the color.

I have seen lesser trucks go for similar money.

A nice paint job alone could cost 8-10k on clean sheetmetal (which a clean sheetmetal crew in 2wd could fetch over 10k.)

Then there is all the mechanicals, suspension, 3k in wheels/tires...etc.

Add it up yourself and see what is better...to spend 20-25k + 500hr labor yourself, or buy one done for 24k?

I know which one I would choose....LOL
Absolutely.....I've been looking for a turn key gen 6 cc for the last few years and they are very very hard to come by and the ones I do find are priced in the mid 20's and up.

If that was his truck, then it was a scam for sure.....I don't think he'd ever have plans on selling his rig, but anything is possible if the individual circumstances warranted it.....I'd be first in line to buy if his rig ever did come up for sale.

Well it is a Camper Special fender (you can see that badge) and they did not make a Highboy in a Camper Special....

No FORD letters on the hood? WTH? The hood release handle is bent straight out the grill, "rookie move". No boot on the xfer case shifter, dash pad looks cracked.

Just raw black floor pans no rubber mat, just black paint. And the p/s leaks, if its a power assist set up that can be a PITA to repair.

Looking at the aftermarket/period incorrect mirrors and the wrong way they are mounted, makes me laugh.

6500 NO IMO.

Need more pics, to really look it over.

mountain dewd sounds like you got lucky with that bed. In my neck of the woods even at $800 that's a steal for one of these beds. Around in decent shape these beds are fetching $1800+.

I really lucked out. I needed a bed and was able to find one for 100 dollars within a week. I have had folks who have scrapped beds here.

i managed to weasel mine for free, i "bought" a parts truck took the bed grille shell beefy rear bymper and wheels and tires for rollers and before i had even given the guy the money for the truck scrap shot up and he wanted the rest so i gave it back to him and never had to pay anything. i guess a blind squirrel does find a nut from time to time, or in my case i guess i do have good luck from time to time

I haven't been on FTE for quite some time. Life has just been busy and I have been off the grid for awhile. Glad to be back on though. What did I miss? .....other than my truck being pawned for a craiglist ad.

I had thought about selling, but changed my mind and my wife really doesn't want me to sell. So, no longer for sell.

I didn't get to see the ad and it's been removed. I still have the truck for sure. It's been in storage for the past 3 years out of state and I finally brought it back home. And ya, I have over 30K into it and not even done yet.

I considered selling one or both of my rigs in exchange for a turn key crew dent, but the wife and I decided to stop entertaining those thoughts as the boys are old enough now to get disappointed and be able to remember.

Wifey says when the boys get old enough to claim them, I can get anything I want in replacement....either a crew (but maybe not if I'm not carting around a family anymore) or a Gen2.
