Fit or not the big problem is how will you shift an electric controlled transmission without it's native computer control.
The carbed motor is totally dumb.
The 87 motor used throttle control via cable (TV) to vary the transmission pressure control in an AOD transmission plus it's internal govenor function.
No vacuum involved.
The later transmission uses electric controlled solenoids to direct internal fluid control per instruction from the computer based on engine speed plus OD and converter lockup functions from vehicle speed and throttle angle.
To many differences overall to make it worthwhile.
