Personally, I prefer the Autolite 2100. I have one on a 351W in a car that I used as a daily driver for 17 years. That carb was virtually trouble free all that time. I agree it's a very nice carb to adjust. I still have the car, but I don't drive it daily anymore. It still starts and runs really nice though.
My guess is that your 351M came with an Autolite/Motorcraft 2150, unless you or someone else put a 2100 on it when you/they put it in your truck.

Carefull there cowboy. The compression ratio was something like 8.7:1 from the factory. Heads with lousy ports. If a Holley make it a small one OR a vacuum secondary one with a quick change secondary diaphragm housing cap. You'll have to swap out for stronger springs 'till ya get rid of the pedal to the metal bog.

Oh I know. But if OP talking about "Holley" and an "intake" I assumed he meant jumping to a 4 BBL. Why would anybody put a high performance 4BBL intake and then adapt a 2BBL to it?
