Mercury and Ford trucks assembled and sold only in the Canadian market: VIN's unique thru 1965, 1966/68 same 11 digit VIN as US trucks.

AFAIK: Mercury hubcaps reproduced.

Thanks for the info on the VIN 52Merc! I have acctually found the orginal owners son and am hoping he can give me a little bit of history on the truck its self!

As far as the Ford historical department goes I found a number online last night and am going to give them a try today. Turns out it about 1 hour from my place so might have a take a tour down there one day!

51PanelMan - The door art is so bad a** eh! I had big dreams of driving a burnt orange almost bronze truck with nice chrome rims on it till I found this.......I am now starting to think If I can get some original photos I may get the original paint job redo with the door art! Still will have nice big chrome rims on her tho!!

I contacted the Ford of Canada historical department when I found my Mercury looking for info. After about 2 months, they got back to me with the vin decode, which I already knew, and said they had no other info, and couldn't even decode the other tag in the upper firewall corner by the hood hinge. Don't expect too much from them.

The door art is so cool as is, it would be a shame to paint over it.

Getting info from the original family is priceless. Here's my story...

I've known people that have bought and used replacement doors for their restoration just to save door art like yours and hung them in the garage. The doors are probably worth, to the right person, more than the rest of the truck.

Plans for the truck are 302 bored and stroked to 347, AOD transmission, No limits IFS front end. 4 link rear end coil overs all around with a 2" drop. Modern buckets out of a newer truck in the cab with a console between them. 18" Chrome 5 spoke wheels, Oak bed. Shaved doors hopfully hidding the hinges. Sky is the limit (and so is my wallet hahaha)

I would consider selling the doors to help pay for the fonrt end of my truck if i was given an offer I couldnt refuse BUT Im starting to fall in love with them hahaha I am seriously considering having the truck re painted as it was when owned by the Massey Ferguson dealer in Angusville MB.

Take my "yard-art" truck for example. The truck is worth scrap price and really not anymore, but this door is very valuable to me personally.
