Question Spray on bedliner coating in wheel wells?

Hi Folks

I was just wondering if anyone has ever applied the spray on bed liner on their under side of the wheel wells of their truck to keep the truck from rusting through that way and ending up with the wheel wells starting to rust through.

I have heard of this being done, but don't know anyone who has it it done and how well it would work. I was think of doing this for my 02 F150 since it doesn't have a lot of rust but I did see a spot starting to show on the passengers rear about the size of a dime.

Thoughts or suggestions welcome!

i have my 78 f250 4x4 torn down for a frame up restoration / rebuild. i used the duplicolor spray bed liner on the underside of my inner fenders as well as the inside the fenders themselves. also did the underside of the cab. box will eventually get done as well as the new gas tank ( just decided on that ). as far as how well it works i have no idea. mine wont be a daily driver but for what i do use it for i don't see why it wont hold up.

Once the rust is there it's too late to think about bedliner. All it would do is trap the cancer against the sheet metal and the only way out is to eat its way through your panels. if you can get to the sourse and neutralize it that would be best. Naval Jelly, spray rust inhibitor. Eastwood makes a product in a can with a very long nozzle to get in and coat those hard to reach areas. I dont think I'd worry about the bedliner mess. If you can neutralize the rust the only thing id' worry about from then on is just keeping the wheelwells clean. Dirt traps water, turns to mud, sticks to metal and plugs drain holes, constant contact with moisture and metal = RUST... yuck. i'm allergic to rust.
