Loose battery connection=no throttle at times

I'm in the process of rebuilding all my battery cables. That being said, often times when I go to start, it turns over once then nothing. No lights, no WTS nothing!! So I pop the hood wiggle the positive cable on the passenger said, I hear a "click" then get in and start it. The weird thing is the last few times this has happened I have no throttle. I pump the peddle, slowly push it down, then out of nowhere it kicks in. What would cause me to lose throttle?

Just a WAG, but maybe the battery disconnect resets the PCM, and it requires a little time before it recognizes the pedal.

Isn't that the IVS issue that has been discussed lately? Does it just idle? If so, then there is a sensor on the pedal that has to get tripped to let the throttle work. Search on here and you will find a couple recent threads about this issue.

It only happens when I go to start the truck and I get nothing at all and go move te positive cable on the passenger side then start it up. I wonder if the cable is shorting out and doin something to the PCM. Even with a loose cable I would think one would have some sort of lights on the dash????

Hopefully my battery cable parts get here so I can build them this weekend.

The bad connection is probably the small-ish (compared to the main starter wire) wire going from the passenger side positive to the starter relay. That's the main junction point for everything electrical on the truck. You might also want to check that junction point on the relay, make sure the nut is tight.
