I ended up getting a 2008 250 with 6.4 a while ago. Price was right, miles were low, in virtually perfect condition, and it was fully loaded minus navigation.

Note: Have electronic climate controls on steering wheel, auto dim mirror, 6-disc mp3 unit, factory sub.

Now, I could easily toss in an aftermarket solution...but I don't want to go that route (yes, I realize it'd be much cheaper and much less of a hassle).

Goal: To get a newer DVD/GPS nav unit with hard drive to work in there, with sync.

Getting the newer head unit in from what I can tell isn't too bad, bit of wiring changes and lack of built in amp. Good excuse to upgrade door speakers and get an amp though. And a trip to the dealer to have it programmed. Correct me if I'm wrong? May also need new rear view mirror? New harness up there for mirror?

Now, getting sync to fit/work seems like a much larger challenge. I need the new buttons on the steering wheel, a new line in + usb port for the console, and probably some "brain box" for behind the dash I assume?

Also...how about adding the backup camera?
