Anyone know of any good shops in the San Antonio area? Going to be in the area for work and wouldn't mind picking up a few toys for my truck while there....

 

If you were in Houston, I could recommend quite a few. There is one in San Antonio that I could recommend, but after the beyond words horrible customer service and how I was treated, I'd rather not.

 

Which one is that, Toreador? It would be a good to know where to avoid?

cuda66, are you just looking for a place to buy accessories or something, or are you looking to get major work done? It's hard to tell from your post.

 

Truck Source Diesel

Late 2011, I was looking for a new chip and had heard good things about TSD so I went to go see them. I called them earlier in the week and the day before to confirm that I'm driving in from Houston and will be there first thing in the morning.

I get there, they open, and the guy who's supposed to be creating tunes and burning a chip for me (one of the two Chris') comes in 2 hours later. Strike 1....

He then takes another hour to get settled in then asks me to pull my truck around back (basically to buy time) and still doesn't do much of anything. Strike 2....

He finally burns a chip for me, plugs it in, I start my truck and notice it doesn't sound right. He then says oops wrong strategy (or wrong something). Whatever was wrong, my truck wouldn't run right and he knew what was wrong. He had spent all that time working on either the wrong strategy or seriously messed something up and wasted MY time. I ended up spending the entire day there, only to walk away chipless and stuck with what I had at the time. Strike 3....

The icing on the cake was when Chris shook my hand, apologized, and said he'd deeply discount the chip and other Chris (or whoever) make things right. Well that never happened, I call them a week later, and they do they best they can to shove me off the phone saying "Oh yeah I remember you, don't worry about anything, we'll call you."

I NEVER heard from them again

That's why I don't ever recommend them to anyone for any reason....

 

Looking for a place to buy accessories...such as EGR delete kit, cold air inlet tube, mount for my H&S tuner etc....[perhap none of the above or all of the above will be purchased but would like to see, hold, examine etc...before purchase]

Heck TD - can't believe they would dis a nice guy like you !!!!!! what were they thinking ?!? thanks for posting the bad shop-it's important and true coming from you...

but heck, we KNOW San Antonio is almost as far from Texas as Austin is nowdays
