Use Stock Tachometer with MSD Coil??
I've been researching posts looking for information on which wire is the signal wire for the stock tachometer in a '91 Bronco. As best as I can determine, it is a white/pink wire.
I have swapped an I6(formerly a 5.0) into my Bronco and would like to use the stock tachometer. I have an MSD coil that is currently going to an aftermarket tach that is working fine, but I would prefer to use the stock tach.
A wiring diagram that Steve83 has for 92-96 Bronco's on the FullSizeBronco forum shows the tach signal wire is (white/pink). Does anyone know if it is the same in a '91, or does anyone have a similar diagram for a '91?
Additionally, based on info from other posts, I believe I am going to need a tach adapter from MSD to make the signal work for the stock tach. I've also got to unground it since I now have a six cylinder instead of the eight, and I am not sure how to do that.
I've found a white/pink wire in the engine bay on the driver's side where all of the electrical hookups are and I still have the 5.0 harness hooked up in the truck. How can I test the white/pink wire to see if it's the signal wire I'm looking for before cutting/splicing it?
If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.
