Best Locking Hub Ever!

Does any one know where I can find a hub like this? Any information about it? It is the only hub I have found that will hold up to climbing rocks at 5,000 RPM in my Ford Bronco Dana 44 Locked Front. I think the hub came out of a 1976 F250. I only have one there for I'm constantly replacing the other hub and scrapping out aluminum shavings.

If you don't want to replace them with Warns the oem Spicer hubs show up on ebay all the time.

OEM's are the strongest I've found...warn premiums get trashed 10:1 against the OEM units in my experience. The oem's can be had for a $50-75/se pending condition...or I buy NOS sets in the $150-200 range.

Agree. I've always found the oem Spicer units to be pretty stout, particularly the bigger HD44 hubs used on the highboys....they've held up well for me even with 38" meats.....

Looks exactly like the ones in my 77 F-150. I had no idea they were so awesome! My highboy has a 44 LD with Warn premiums, it was like that when I got it.

if you are climbing rocks at 5000 rpm then you need to ditch the hubs and go drive slugs

I've always had good luck with the Ford spicer lockouts. In fact, the only one I've broke was an innocent bystander in a D60 stub shaft explosion.

I just put Warn premiums on my new D44 and I'm pissed at them already.
Since they're new they're stiff as hell and the grab area sucks compared to stock.
Beats the crap out of my old fingers.
Hope they break in.

I warn premiums are exactly the same way. And they're probably quite old.

All my sets (old and new) are super stiff to turn. That's why I made my hub turner.

They look OEM to the Bronco. I removed a low-mile Spicer hubs just like that from a '78 Bronco years ago and never did anything with them.

Hey man, if you are using pliers to turn your hubs the plastic turn **** will "probably" break at some point. Just pull off the hubs and clean them, grease them lightly and you will be good to go. I pull my hubs off every year to clean and apply new grease!! BTW--don't use to much grease, you only need to lightly coat everything--use a Q-tip to apply.

Sorry for the hi-jack

The OEM Spicer's are the best in my opinion as well...never had a issue with any of mine, and they are the only one's I will ever use. Yeah they have plastic turn *****, but they are still the bomb--hands down!!
