Changing the fuel filter in my 2009 ranger

I changed fuel filters in my old ranger so it should be a pretty straight forward job on the newer ranger. One question I have is concerning the inertia switch. In my old ranger, you could just disconnect the switch, turn the engine over a few times and the pump was off. The switch on my old ranger was just above the floor on the passenger side. Easy to get to and easy to disconnect. With this ranger, I noticed that it has a reset switch in the fuse box. I don't see any way to disconnect anything. Just a button to reset it if it shuts off from an accident. Is there a way to disconnect it or do I have to turn off the pump a different way with this truck? Maybe pull the fuse for the fuel pump in the fuse box under the hood? Would that accomplish the same thing? Thanks.

You could thump the inertia switch to trip it, or pull the fuel pump fuse so it won't run, then crank the engine to relieve fuel pressure before opening the fuel lines to change the filter.
