Question Turn signal issues on 91 f150.

I think what I have is a bad turn signal switch on my 91.

My hazards work but if I mess with the turn signal lever (Flipping it up or down) the 15a fuse for the hazard/tail lights will blow. I also noticed the 15a for the turn signals/back up lights was blown too. I remember the PO for the truck was telling me every time he put in a new fuse and used the turn signals the fuse would pop.

AS long as I don't touch the turn signal lever the hazards will work and no fuses will be blown.

Does this sound like a short inside the turn signal switch? it seems to me that would be the issue.

Thoughts?

The signal switch mechanism seems the be the best place to start, but, unless you are mechanically inclined, getting into the clock spring may not be a good idea.
