Koenig winch question.

I just recently purchased a 76 F250 Highboy, its got a 360/C6/205 case and a BIG Koenig Iron works PTO winch. Ive seen other Koenig winches on jeeps, Power Wagons, etc. the ones im familiar with have a capacity of 150' of 5/16" cable, while this one has 250+ feet of 3/8" cable, and may have room for even more cable. it has 524 on both sides of the gear case, right under the logo "Koenig Iron Works, Houston, Texas". im also kinda puzzled by what ive read on various 4x4 forums where the consensus is that the weak link on Koenig winches are the aluminum castings that form all the mounting components and gearcase housings?? because i took a magnet, and moved it all over this winch, and every single piece of this winch is steel or iron. im just wondering what the rated pull of this winch is?
