QUESTIONS ABOUT '56 DASH'S

WE HAVE A QUESTION , WHEN YOU GUYS WERE BUILDING YOUR F100, DID ANYONE REINFORCE OR BRACE THEIR DASH TO THE FIREWALL FOR ADDITIONAL SUPPORT. Silly question, but my cab was butchered when someone cut out or off pieces of the lower inner lip of the dash. We were thinking of welding in a brace center wish of the dash back to the firewall without interfearin with our AC unit.

Standing by for your thoughts

Why would you think the dash needed additional support to the firewall? It's all welded in on 3 sides, and the center certainly doesn't flop around. It's not going anywhere. If you were ever in a frontal collision and your knees hit the dash, you'd be very thankful the dash has the ability to deform more than your lower extremities. Don't overthink this stuff.

We ground out the buggered metal, tacked in a nice piece of flat bar, welded in the radio and ash tray holes and it looks very nice. We'll be posting newer photos on the Album soon 1!

Thanks,
