2007 4.6L spark plug replacement

What is the best lube to put into the plug holes and how long to let it soak before starting to remove plugs?

I have read put the lube in while hot some say use PB Blaster, other say carb cleaner. Any advise on what works best? I will be able to leave the truck sit for days if needed as I have a second car to drive.

You don't need any. The 4.6 2v is not affected by the plug breaking problem. They use a standard design plug.

My bad, I posted under the F150 section should have posted under the Explorer section. It's a explorer 3v.

Get the engine hot and run the plugs out with a 3/8 impact or strong air ratchet. Don't bother with soaking them, it doesn't help. You want the plug to spin continuously until its out. If it stops the carbon gets wedged in there and locks the ground shield to the head. At least that's my opinion on why they break. I might break 1 plug every 8-10 sets I do with this method and have never had any thread damage to the heads.
