I have the dreaded flashing O/D light on my early 99 F350 7.3 4x4 auto. Has anybody found a decent priced code reader that can read our codes? The only one's that seem to be consistently recommended are Snap-On or AutoEnginuity. Any first hand experience with a reader purchased at Sears?

 

You don't need a "special" scan tool, just one that supports "manufacturer-specific" codes. Prices start around $175-200. The el-cheapo readers won't do the job.
